Smokefree legislation/initiatives

In 2006 the Ministry of Health published a decree banning smoking in public and private health structures. Smoking restrictions cover most other places but are limited and not enforced. Guinea ratified the FCTC on 7 November 2007 but it has not yet been implemented.

Génération Sans Tabac is lobbying the government to take action on smokefree and has been supported by the Minister of Commerce who wrote to the President about this in March 2009.
