It’s that time of year again when you start thinking about how much you need to give up smoking but how drastically you’ve failed on previous occasions.
Since today’s National No Smoking Day we’ve come up with our top five tips for keeping your mind off smoking to help you ‘stub it out’ for good.
1) Take up a new hobby, something you’ve always wanted to do like knitting, painting or cycling – it’ll keep your mind off smoking and make you a more interesting person in the process!
2) Keep yourself busy by tackling that nagging job that you’ve been putting off for ages. Whether it’s tidying your desk or cleaning out your wardrobe, get on and do it.
3) Pick a friend and whenever you feel the urge to smoke use them as a helpline, allowing them to choose a suitable punishment for you.
5) For every time you consider having a cigarette, put £1 into a jar and at the end of the week donate all the money saved to Comic Relief.
