The “I Quit” program is a Smoking Cessation Group Program for Concordia staff and faculty who are serious about quitting smoking.

The program is facilitated by trained health care professionals from Health Services and consists of weekly 2-hour sessions given over an 8 week period.

There are also monthly follow-ups for a year. Sessions will begin in October. There is a participation fee of $25. Topics covered include:

  • Understanding nicotine addiction
  • Dispelling myths about tobacco
  • Identifying the barriers to smoke-free living
  • Building and rehearsing coping skills to overcome the barriers
  • Adopting positive attitudes to smoke-free living
  • Stress, nutrition, physical activity, communication and more…
