The Quit Smoking Laser – How Does it Work?
The quit smoking laser has recently gotten a lot of attention. Does it live up to the hype? Find out in this article.
Everyone is talking about the quit smoking laser. But how does it work and what does it do? Let’s take a closer look.
What Is It?
It’s what medical science call a “cold” laser. This means that it is a low class laser that is safe for general medical use and put in the same safety category as band-aids and bandages.
What Is The Procedure?
You attend a clinic that provides the quit smoking laser service. The process takes around one hour.
Usually, you have a 15 to 20 minute session with a stop smoking specialist. They prepare you ahead of the procedure and help to get you in the right frame of mind for quitting.
Then you lie down and a technician runs the cold laser over your body, concentrating on specific points such as the ears. The procedure is completely painless.
How Does It Work?
No one can explain it fully, but it is said that endorphins, the body’s pleasure chemicals, are generated and therefore you have much less stress and worry about quitting. You do not get any cravings after the session.
The laser is very similar to the use of acupuncture and acupressure and shares many of the same pressure points. Both methods also work to reduce cravings and make it easier to quit.
How Much Is It?
It really depends on where you live and the clinic that you use. Some clinics will try to get you to do 2 sessions – an initial one and a follow up, and you must pay for both, even though you may only need the first session.
I would advise you to only look for clinics that are confident that you will need only one session.
Typically, for this single session, you can expect to pay anywhere between 100 and 300 dollars.
This may sound a lot but remember how much you currently spend on cigarettes, money that you won’t be spending anymore if the treatment is successful for you.

Laser treatmants, does it work. Short answer…YES is does work. I just passed my 4 year mark of not smoking. I was a pack a day smoker for 30 years. I was referred by someone I do business with. She smoked 2 packs a day for 40+ years. She has been smoke free for six years and still lives in a house with a smoker. I referred one of my best friends. He was a two pack a day smoker for 30+ years and has just passed his one year mark. The person who did all of these in St. Louis only did one treatment and only on the ears…for under $125. If you’re not ready to quit…it doesn’t matter what method you try, you will fail. To those who say there is no Scientific evidence…who gives a crap. Look at all the people it helps. There’s no scientific evidence that there’s a God but look at all the people who believe without question. Quit making excuses and do WHATEVER you need to do to quit smoking and prolong your life.
I live in NC. are there any facilities here for laser?
